It was manufactured from 1979 to 1990 as the US model. It"s a very rare and valuable flute, as there have been no transactions within Japan (online) in the past 10 years. There have been a few transactions in the US, but the count is very low.The headjoint is made of 925 sterling silver with a silver-plated finish. The A mark beside the serial number indicates "American pitch=440".It has an exquisite balance of price and tone, making it an excellent instrument. Whether you play it or collect it, I think it will be a great fit.
